Meet Johann Berby

Who’s the man behind the mic?
Johann Berby is not your average bass player.

He is a multi-awarded, internationally acclaimed musician, creative entrepreneur, and guide for those seeking to unlock their inner groove – in life, music, and business.

Before turning 30, Johann had already completed four world tours, performing on major stages and festivals alongside legends such as Marcus Miller, Jan Garbarek, Trilok Gurtu, Zakir Hussain, Terry Bozzio, Yaël Naïm, Blick Bassy, Oumou Sangaré, Mory Kanté, Shankar Mahadevan, and Hadrien Feraud.

He’s the founder of GROOVE LIKE A PIG®, a unique music school based in Estonia and online — blending technique, groove mastery, and self-development. He also runs multiple digital ventures like BassistePro.com, Entrepreneur Geek and Cloud Sultans, always with the same mission: to help people unlock their potential through rhythm, resilience, and realness.

WHY GROOVE BEYOND LIMITS ?

Because real transformation starts from within.

Born on the island of Réunion, Johann is a descendant of enslaved people — and of generations of rhythm, spirit, and untold stories.
As a child, words weren’t enough. Emotion overflowed. But movement and music became his language.

Through dance, percussion, and later the bass, he learned to feel, process, and express. Later came science. Therapy. Entrepreneurship.
He explored neuroscience, subconscious reprogramming, and healing work — to overcome self-sabotage, deep grief (after losing his little brother), and a 12-year toxic relationship with the mother of his child.

Today, he shares this inner work through his voice, his business, and this podcast — helping others reconnect with their truth, rhythm, and purpose.
